STACY Francis calls Scientology “phenomenal” and actor Tom Cruise “a sweetheart” in tonight’s episode of Celebrity Big Brother.
The controversial religion and its most famous practitioner come up in a conversation with actor James Cosmo on Day 9 in the house, with singer Stacy boasting: “I have several actor friends. Tom Cruise is a very nice guy.”
The X Factor USA star, 47, goes on to tell James how she’s sung at a couple of Tom’s birthday parties (including his 40th in 2004), adding of the couch-jumping A-lister: “I like him a lot. I hate that the public get it wrong with him as he’s a sweetheart.”
She continues: “Scientology is pretty phenomenal. I love Scientology… My love for Jesus has not dwindled, but it’s tools that you apply.”
Game of Thrones star James however appears unmoved by her passion, responding: “It’s not for me.”

The religion, founded in 1954 by American science fiction author L. Ron Hubbard, was the subject of a damning 2015 documentary, Going Clear, and more recently a docu-series called Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath, in which the titular King of Queens actress and former Scientologist speaks out about her experiences in the Church.
